York Cinemas introduced a phased, VIP‑only ticketing window for the Tamil star C. Joseph Vijay’s upcoming film Jana Nayagan. The first 24 hours of advance bookings are reserved for VIP members and customers awaiting refunds, giving them priority before tickets are released to the general public. The VIP window will continue for the second and third days of sales, after which the remaining seats become available to everyone.

The strategy follows strong overseas demand, with the United Kingdom’s Ahimsa Entertainment reporting thousands of tickets sold within an hour of opening. The film is slated for release in Indian theaters on 23 July, one day before its worldwide launch on 24 July. York Cinemas also announced that ticket exchanges must be processed in person at theatre box offices.

The VIP system is aimed at rewarding loyal customers and addressing earlier booking issues as anticipation builds for what is being promoted as Vijay’s farewell film before his full‑time move into politics.
