Vipava Valley celebrates autumn grape harvest season

The Vipava Valley in Slovenia is entering its autumn grape harvest season, a period characterized by traditional festivities and intense vineyard activity. The annual Vipava Harvest festival, a tradition spanning over half a century, recently took place from September 10 to 13, featuring a wine fair, a farmers' market, and the crowning of the local wine queen.

In the nearby village of Šmalčje, the Martinčič family vineyard has completed its harvest efforts. Nika Martinčič, the 29th Wine Queen of Slovenia, participated in the seasonal work alongside her family. The Martinčič family maintains a long viticultural tradition, managing tens of thousands of vines. The harvested grapes are currently being processed in the cellar to begin the winemaking process for the new vintage.
