Vipers SC of Uganda lost 2-1 to host APR FC in the final Group A match of the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda. Despite the defeat and a red card for defender Bady Kevin, the Ugandan champions finished as group runners‑up and qualified for the quarter‑finals. APR’s goals came from Mamadou Traoré and captain Outtara Djbril, while Vipers’ earlier 3-0 win over Djibouti’s Garde Républicaine had kept them unbeaten in the group.
Coach Denis Lavagne said the encounter would be difficult, noting that Vipers had yet to concede a goal in the tournament. The win secured Vipers a place among the last four teams, while APR remain in contention for the semi‑finals.
