Vir Municipality celebrates 33rd anniversary with major infrastructure projects
The Municipality of Vir is celebrating its 33rd anniversary and the feast of St. John the Baptist amidst significant infrastructure developments. Croatian President Zoran Milanović attended the ceremonial session of the Municipal Council to mark the occasion.
Key upcoming projects include a major water and sewage agglomeration project valued at approximately 181 million euros. This initiative, which has received approval from the European Union and awaits government consent, aims to provide water and sewage connections to every household on the island. The project is expected to be completed within five to six years.
Additionally, the municipality is moving forward with the construction of a new primary school and sports hall. The project is currently in the public procurement phase, with construction potentially starting by the end of the year to accommodate a growing number of children on the island.
