Virú producers secure technical assistance and market for gulupa

The Proyecto Especial Chavimochic (PECH) has facilitated a commercial agreement between the Quñijallpa Cooperative in Virú and Amazonas Company to boost the production and sale of gulupa.

As part of the deal, Amazonas Company will provide four months of technical assistance to help producers meet specific quality standards and market requirements. This support aims to improve crop management and ensure the fruit meets buyer expectations.

The agreement includes a commitment to purchase the gulupa at S/ 2.50 per kilogram, representing an approximate 108% increase from the previous price of S/ 1.20 per kilogram, which had been impacted by quality issues. The initiative is intended to diversify agricultural production and create new commercial opportunities for local producers.
