Viracopos Airport manages Formula 1 logistics and holiday passenger surge

Viracopos International Airport in Campinas is managing two major operations: the arrival of Formula 1 equipment and a significant increase in passenger traffic during the All Souls Day holiday.

For the Formula 1 MSC Cruises São Paulo Grand Prix, nine Boeing aircraft are transporting approximately 800 tons of cars and equipment from Mexico. This marks the 25th consecutive year the airport has handled logistics for the event. A specialized operation involving 100 professionals and truck convoys will move the cargo to the Interlagos Circuit.

Separately, the airport and the Campinas bus station expect a combined 245,000 passengers during the holiday period from October 30 to November 3. Viracopos alone anticipates 174,000 passengers, with peak movement expected on Tuesday, November 3, during the morning hours.
