Viral social media incidents reported in Brazil

Two separate incidents involving social media virality have gained attention in Brazil. In Manaus, a man became a subject of internet memes after posting a video expressing frustration over being stared at in a shopping mall. He claimed that his basic attire, consisting of jeans, a white t-shirt, and a cap, caused people to look at him as if he were an “extraterrestrial.”

In Rio Grande do Norte, Jomario Montenegro, a police delegate in Mossoró, went viral following a news interview. While the interview focused on a criminal investigation involving vehicle theft, social media users focused on the delegate's appearance. The situation reportedly led to a domestic dispute between a couple after a woman complimented the officer's looks during a family gathering, an event the delegate later acknowledged on his social media stories.
