Viranşehir hospital shooting: Child abuse suspect killed in ambush

A suspect accused of child sexual abuse, identified as Metin Albayrak (M. A.), was killed following an armed ambush at the Viranşehir State Hospital in Şanlıurfa, Turkey.

Albayrak had been taken into custody and was being transported to the hospital for a mandatory medical examination. The victim's father, F. A., and brother, İ. A., reportedly ambushed him in front of the emergency department. During the shooting, a civilian, Ayşe E., who was at the hospital for medical treatment, was also seriously wounded.

Following the attack, the father and son fled the scene but were subsequently apprehended by gendarmerie forces. While Albayrak succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, Ayşe E. remains in critical condition. The two attackers were arrested by a court on charges of
