Virat Kohli Returns to India's ODI Squad for England Series
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named a 15‑member squad for the three‑match One Day International series against England scheduled for July 14, 16 and 19 at Birmingham, Cardiff and Lord's. Veteran batsman Virat Kohli is back in the lineup after missing the recent Afghanistan series due to a hamstring injury, while fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah also regains his place. Young opener Rishabh Jaiswal has been dropped, making way for Akshdeep Singh and other newcomers, and all other members of the Afghanistan series squad have been retained.
Medical reports indicate Kohli’s hamstring has healed faster than expected, and he is expected to be fully fit for the England tour. Team officials are monitoring his fitness closely, and his return is seen as a major boost to India’s batting strength ahead of the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup.
