Virat Kohli sidelined by hamstring injury, misses Afghanistan ODI series

India's captain Virat Kohli will not feature in the three‑match One‑Day International series against Afghanistan after a hamstring injury that was aggravated during the IPL 2026 final. The series, slated to begin on 13 June in Dharamshala, followed his 75‑run, 42‑ball knock in the final where he also recorded his fastest fifty. Coach Rahul Dravid confirmed Kohli's fitness remains in doubt, and Rohit Sharma also faces injury concerns ahead of the series.

All‑rounder Harsh Dubey, newly called up for both the Test and ODI squads, expressed his desire to play alongside Kohli and Rohit before the veterans retire.
