Virat Kohli's participation in Vijay Hazare Trophy remains subject to workload

Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) President Rohan Jaitley has addressed the potential participation of Virat Kohli in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy. Jaitley stated that there is no doubt regarding Kohli’s commitment to his home state, noting that the player will represent Delhi whenever his availability and workload allow.

Kohli previously made a significant return to the 50-over domestic tournament last season, including a notable performance where he scored 131 runs off 101 balls against Andhra. The 2026-27 edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy is scheduled to begin on December 14.

However, scheduling conflicts may impact his participation. A three-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka is set for December 13-19, which coincides with the start of the domestic tournament. The BCCI has encouraged centrally contracted players to participate in domestic cricket to maintain match fitness when possible.
