Virender Sehwag discusses career and hosting ‘Rise & Fall’

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has discussed his professional journey and his new role as host of the second season of the streaming reality show ‘Rise & Fall’. During promotions in Mumbai, Sehwag addressed misconceptions regarding his batting style, noting that while he was part of an explosive opening partnership with Sachin Tendulkar, he also played defensively and adapted his approach based on game demands and surroundings.

Sehwag drew parallels between his cricketing career and the theme of the show, reflecting on the inevitable cycles of success and setbacks. He cited his debut in 1999, his rapid scoring milestones, and his periods being dropped from the national team as examples of the ‘rise and fall’ experienced in life. He emphasized that setbacks provide opportunities to build stronger foundations.

Produced by Banijay Asia and available on Amazon MX Player, the reality series features 15 contestants competing over 42 days. The format involves contestants divided into ‘Rulers’ and ‘Workers’, focusing on strategy, alliances, and shifting power dynamics.
