Virgen de los Dolores celebrated in Córdoba and Almería

Religious communities in Córdoba, Mexico, and Almería, Spain, are observing the feast of the Virgen de los Dolores (Our Lady of Sorrows) on September 15.

In Córdoba, the celebration takes place at the Iglesia de la Inmaculada. Despite the festivities for Mexican Independence Day often overshadowing the religious event, local clergy report high attendance and continued devotion. The scheduled activities include a holy mass, the Holy Rosary, and a community gathering.

In Almería, the commemoration is marked by traditions at the Iglesia de Santiago Apóstol. This year features a symbolic event where the bell of Nuestra Señora de la Soledad will ring from the Vela de la Alcazaba tower at 18:00, intended to serve as a symbol of hope and continuity for the community.
