Virgen de los Reyes novena in Seville draws historic participation

The Cathedral of Seville will host a nine‑day novena in honor of Nuestra Señora de los Reyes from 6 to 14 August. The devotion returns to the restored Altar of Silver after a comprehensive restoration, and the celebrations include morning and evening liturgies, the rosary, and the Eucharist.

Archbishop José Ángel Saix Meneses will preside over the ceremonies, while the evening sessions are to be preached by José Domingo Ulloa Mendieta, the metropolitan archbishop of Panama, marking a gesture of communion between the Seville and Panamanian churches. The novena coincides with the 80th anniversary of the Virgin’s proclamation as patron of Seville and the centennial of the Archdiocese of Panama, adding historic significance.

The events are broadcast live on Cathedral of Seville TV, allowing faithful who cannot attend in person to participate remotely.
