Virgen del Rosario returns to Puerto Lumbreras after restoration

The Virgen del Rosario, the patron saint of Puerto Lumbreras, has returned to her municipality following a meticulous restoration process. The work was conducted by the Restoration Center of the Region of Murcia to preserve the historical and artistic value of the sculpture, originally created by José Lozano Roca.

The restoration, led by specialist Raquel Molina Sánchez, involved removing old overpainting, consolidating the pictorial layer, and repairing losses in the carving. While the chromatic intervention by José Hernández Navarro was preserved on the Virgin, the original polychromy of the Child Jesus was recovered. The return of the image coincides with the town's patron saint festivities scheduled from October 1 to October 7.
