Virgen del Valle maritime procession in Pampatar

In Pampatar, Venezuela, more than 300 boats are expected to participate in the traditional Barloventeo of the Virgen del Valle. This maritime procession through the bay serves as a tribute by local residents and fishermen to the Patroness of the Venezuelan East.

The tradition, which began in 1998, involves sailors from various communities joining together at sea. Local fishermen have noted recent successful harvests, such as sardines, and intend to offer their catch as a gesture of gratitude for received favors. The route will depart from Pampatar Bay, making stops at Playa Valdéz and Bella Vista before reaching El Farallón, incorporating mariners from Manzanillo, Guayacán, La Galera, Puerto Moreno, and Los Cocos.
