Virgin Australia announces Pride Flight return and new seasonal routes

Virgin Australia has announced the return of its Pride Flight for a seventh year, scheduled for March 5, 2027. The two services will run from Melbourne and Brisbane to Sydney to coincide with Australia’s largest annual gay and lesbian festival. The flights feature themed flight numbers, LGBTQIA+ crew, and onboard entertainment including drag performers and DJs. For the first time, the airline has partnered with Pinterest to determine the official theme, which will be revealed in December 2026.

Separately, Virgin Australia has resumed its seasonal direct flight service between Launceston and Adelaide for the sixth consecutive year. Operating three return flights per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, the route will run through April 2027. Tasmanian officials noted the service provides a vital connection for South Australian visitors, who contributed approximately $228 million to the Tasmanian economy in the year leading up to March 2026.
