Virgin Galactic and Giant Group report key financial developments

Virgin Galactic is preparing to release its second-quarter 2026 financial results on August 12. Analysts anticipate a loss of $0.60 per share with revenue estimated at $0.127 million. Despite these expected losses, the company is focusing on its transition to the 'Delta-class' fleet to improve flight frequency and economic viability, with commercial operations targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026.

In recent shareholder activity, BlackRock significantly increased its stake in Virgin Galactic by more than 6.99 million shares, bringing its total holding to approximately 8.19 million shares. Other institutional investors, including the Bank of New York Mellon Corp, also maintain positions.

Giant Group reported a 234% year-over-year increase in net profit for the second quarter of 2026, earning 630 million NT$. The company attributed this growth to higher margins from proprietary brands and a reduction in necessary clearance discounts. Giant also indicated that inventory adjustments in the European market are nearing completion and demand is recovering, though industry data from Shimano suggests market stocks remain somewhat high.
