Virgin Media O2 announces leadership changes at O2 Business

Virgin Media O2 is undergoing executive leadership changes following the merger of its B2B division with the British Daisy Group. Jo Bertram is stepping down as CEO of O2 Business, a role she held for one year following the integration. A spokesperson for VMO2 stated that Bertram played a fundamental role in the merger and successfully led the integration during its first year.

Matthew Riley, the founder of Daisy Group and current chair of O2 Business, will serve as the interim CEO. Riley is expected to focus on commercial operations, product portfolio dynamism, and achieving established merger synergies.

These leadership shifts occur amid reports that Telefónica and Liberty Global are preparing a potential £600 million adjustment plan to reduce debt and address bondholder concerns regarding the company's £22 billion debt load. VMO2 clarified that Bertram's departure is not a dismissal and is not linked to any planned cost-cutting measures.
