Virgin Voyages reroutes Brilliant Lady due to tropical storms

Virgin Voyages has altered the itinerary for the Brilliant Lady cruise departing Los Angeles on October 10, 2026, due to weather concerns involving Hurricane Rachel and Tropical Storm Simon. The ship will no longer visit the Mexican Riviera, specifically canceling scheduled stops in Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, and Puerto Vallarta.

The revised route will instead include stops in Santa Barbara, San Diego, and Ensenada before returning to Los Angeles on October 17. The company stated that the decision was made to prioritize the safety of guests and crew following the latest weather forecasts.

Virgin Voyages noted that shore excursions booked for the canceled Mexican ports will be refunded in full. This marks the third consecutive itinerary adjustment for the vessel due to tropical weather activity.
