Entrepreneur Virginia Calvo has been elected to preside over the LAND audiovisual cluster in Andalusia. Following elections held on October 26, Calvo, who serves as the co-founder and COO of the esports organization Giantx, defeated communicator Manu Sánchez.
Calvo will lead the new Executive Committee for a four-year term. The election follows a period of instability for the entity after former president Gustavo Fuentes was removed from his position following allegations of sexual harassment and aggression.
Calvo brings over two decades of experience in technology, gaming, esports, and digital content to the role. She is recognized as one of Spain's most influential female entrepreneurs by Forbes.
