Virginia Cavaliers defeat Norfolk State 59-3

The 25th-ranked Virginia Cavaliers defeated Norfolk State 59-3 in their first Friday night game at Scott Stadium this season. The victory marks Virginia's largest margin of victory since 1990.

During the game, kicker Will Bettridge became the program's all-time leading scorer, surpassing Connor Hughes with 337 career points. The Cavaliers' offense was led by Beau Pribula, who completed 12 of 14 passes for 162 yards and three touchdowns. The second half saw significant participation from reserve players, including touchdown passes from backup quarterbacks Eli Holstein and Cole Geer.

Defensively, Brandyn Hillman recorded two interceptions, and linebacker Justin Rowe returned an interception for a touchdown in the final minutes. Norfolk State head coach Michael Vick noted that the Cavaliers were well-coached and required opponents to earn every yard.
