Virginia Fonseca leaves Grande Rio drum queen position

Influencer and entrepreneur Virginia Fonseca has announced her departure from the position of drum queen (rainha de bateria) for the samba school Grande Rio, effective for the 2027 Carnival. Fonseca stated that the decision follows months of reflection and a desire to prioritize her family, her three children, and her business ventures, such as WePink and WeGym.

Fonseca noted that the role requires an intense level of commitment and presence that she can no longer sustain alongside her professional and personal responsibilities. While stepping down from the title, she expressed gratitude to the Grande Rio community and indicated she intends to participate in the 2027 Carnival in a different capacity, potentially alongside the school's patron, Jayder Soares.

The school, based in Duque de Caxias, released a statement honoring her tenure and thanking her for her dedication. Following the announcement, discussions have already emerged regarding potential successors, with names such as Paolla Oliveira, Mileide Mihaile, and Cariúcha being mentioned by fans and insiders.
