Virginia Fonseca ends betting platform advertisements

Influencer Virginia Fonseca has announced she will no longer promote betting platforms on her social media channels. This decision follows the conclusion of her partnership with the betting site Blaze.

Court documents revealed by the betting site Blaze in a legal proceeding before the Federal District Court detail a contract involving approximately R$ 100 million in transfers and agency commissions. The agreement reportedly included an initial payment, fixed monthly installments for 18 months, and bonuses for promotional actions. Fonseca’s legal team denies she received commissions linked to user losses and maintains that all payments were made in Brazil in compliance with tax laws.

The shift in strategy occurs amid a civil public action filed by the Public Ministry of the Federal District and Territories (MPDFT). The investigation into Blaze, which involves Foggo Entertainment, follows more than 42,000 consumer complaints regarding alleged abusive practices. The MPDFT is questioning how betting content was presented to Fonseca’s followers, who number over 52 million.
