Virginia football players earn ACC weekly honors
Four University of Virginia football players have received Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) weekly honors following the Cavaliers' 34-8 season-opening victory over NC State.
Quarterback Beau Pribula was named Quarterback of the Week after recording 265 total yards of offense, including 155 passing yards and two touchdowns, alongside 110 rushing yards. Offensive lineman Monroe Mills earned recognition for his performance in protecting the quarterback and facilitating a rushing attack that totaled 258 yards.
Defensive back Brandyn Hillman was honored as Defensive Back of the Week, contributing to a defense that limited NC State to 168 total yards. Specialist Will Bettridge was also recognized for his contributions to the win. This marks the first time since 2021 that four Virginia players have received ACC weekly honors in a single announcement.
