Virginia football prepares to host Norfolk State following bye week
The Virginia Cavaliers football team is set to return to action this Friday at Scott Stadium to host Norfolk State. Following an early bye week, head coach Tony Elliott addressed the team's preparation and roster status.
Star linebacker Kam Robinson is expected to play, marking his first time in full contact since being unavailable during fall camp. However, Elliott noted that the team will manage Robinson’s snap count to ensure he is prepared for upcoming matchups, such as the game against West Virginia on September 19.
Elliott also emphasized the need for greater depth on the offensive line, stating his goal is to have 12 playable linemen to sustain the team through the season. While the Cavaliers currently have approximately seven to ten players ready, the coach stressed that increasing this number is critical for long-term stability.
