Virginia launches new interactive autumn travel guide

Virginia has launched a new digital guide, ‘Find Your Fall in Virginia’, to help visitors navigate the autumn season. The resource includes an interactive map designed to track the progression of foliage changes, which typically reach peak color in October.

Through the new website and a ‘Foliage Reports’ newsletter, travelers can access event calendars and photo galleries. Suggested activities range from observing bald eagles at the Chesapeake Bay and riding trains through the Shenandoah Valley to exploring the 44 state parks and Shenandoah National Park.

Regional highlights for the October to November period include wine tastings, autumn festivals, and Halloween events. Notable locations mentioned include the historic city of Alexandria, the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the High Bridge Trail near Farmville, which offers elevated views of the Appomattox River.
