Virginia man charged with murder after multi-state manhunt
Roger Bradford, 60, of Aldie, Virginia, has been charged with first-degree murder and firearms offenses following the shooting death of his wife, 54-year-old real estate agent Lisa Bradford.
Authorities responded to the couple’s residence in the 24000 block of Quimby Oaks Place in Loudoun County shortly after noon on Tuesday after a relative alerted law enforcement to the potential crime. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Lisa Bradford’s body; her husband had already fled the scene in a rental car.
A multi-state manhunt ensued as investigators tracked the vehicle through Virginia and Maryland. The search concluded in Bedford, Pennsylvania, where Pennsylvania State Police took Bradford into custody at approximately 3:15 p.m., roughly three hours after the initial police response.
Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman stated that while authorities believe the shooting may be domestic in nature, they have not yet determined if there was a history of domestic incidents. A handgun was used in the killing, but the weapon had not been recovered at the time of reporting. Roger Bradford remains in Pennsylvania pending extradition to Virginia.
