Virginia students tackle student attacking teacher with knife

Seventh-grade students at Jonesville Middle School in western Virginia intervened to stop a 12-year-old boy who allegedly attacked a teacher with a knife. According to Lee County Sheriff Gary Parsons, several students tackled and restrained the suspect, an action the sheriff credited with potentially saving the teacher's life.

The teacher sustained non-life-threatening injuries and required stitches. The suspect reportedly used a cutlery knife taken from the school kitchen. The 12-year-old has been taken into custody and faces charges of aggravated malicious wounding and assault and battery. All other students and staff members were reported safe.
