Virginia Tech athletics prepare for 2026-27 season

Virginia Tech is preparing for the 2026-27 athletic season across multiple programs. The men’s and women’s basketball teams have announced a variety of gameday experiences at Cassell Coliseum, including theme nights such as ‘Buckets are Back Night’, ‘Cassell After Dark’, and several color-out events like ‘Black Out’ and ‘White Out’. The university is also offering a ‘Free Under 3’ initiative for children attending games.

In wrestling, head coach Tony Robie has expressed high expectations for the upcoming season, describing the current roster as potentially the best in program history. The team features returning national champion Caleb Henson and All-Americans Aaron Seidel, Eddie Ventresca, and Colin Gaj, alongside highly anticipated freshman Bo Bassett. The wrestling program has set a goal of competing for a team trophy at the NCAA championships in St. Louis.
