Virginia Tech defeats Boston College to improve to 4-0
Virginia Tech secured a 21-14 victory over Boston College in Chestnut Hill, improving their record to 4-0 and marking their first undefeated start since 2017. The win was characterized by difficult weather conditions, including winds of 30 to 40 mph, which hampered passing attacks for both sides.
Boston College quarterback Mason McKenzie led a strong performance for the Eagles, accounting for 138 of the team's 150 rushing yards. Virginia Tech initially struggled to contain the Eagles' run game, particularly the quarterback draw, but defensive adjustments and dominant play from the defensive line eventually stabilized the game.
Offensively, Jeffrey Overton led two scoring drives to help the Hokies overcome a 14-6 deficit in the fourth quarter. Following the win, Virginia Tech enters ACC play with momentum, looking toward a matchup against Pitt.
