Virginia Tech football advances through 2026 fall camp

Virginia Tech football has entered fall camp in preparation for its 2026 season opener against VMI on September 5. Head coach James Franklin has been overseeing practices at the Beamer-Lawson Indoor Practice Facility, where recent sessions have focused on position battles, including a competitive wide receiver rotation involving players such as Ayden Greene, Que'Sean Brown, and Marlion Jackson.

Defensive tackle Kemari Copeland has been named to the Bednarik Award watch list by the Maxwell Football Club, adding to his previous recognition on the Nagurski Award and Outland Trophy watch lists.

Off the field, the program recently engaged in a community initiative with Carilion Clinic Children’s, where student-athletes participated in a jersey swap with eight children. Additionally, the program is hosting a Countdown to Kickoff Bash to support the Hokies for Community initiative and the Lunch Pail Defense Foundation.
