Virginia Tech football enters mid-fall camp under James Franklin
Virginia Tech football has entered the midpoint of its 2026 fall camp as the team prepares for its season opener against VMI on September 5. Under head coach James Franklin, the program is undergoing a transition period characterized by intense positional competition.
Projected starters for the offense include quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer and running back Marcellous Hawkins. Hawkins has gained recognition as one of 113 nominees for the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy, an honor recognizing community service and leadership.
