Virginia to host Notre Dame in 2027 football matchup

Virginia has announced it will host Notre Dame at Scott Stadium in 2027 as part of the Fighting Irish's updated football schedule. This matchup serves as a replacement for a previously scheduled game against Georgia Tech, which withdrew from the 2027 matchup due to Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) scheduling adjustments.

Under new ACC requirements beginning in 2027, most conference teams will play a nine-game conference schedule and are required to play 10 Power 4 opponents. While Notre Dame is a full member of the ACC in most sports, it maintains a unique football scheduling agreement with the conference.

The 2027 Virginia schedule includes home games against Arkansas State, Louisville, Notre Dame, Pitt, SMU, Virginia Tech, and William & Mary, alongside away games against Boston College, Georgia Tech, Miami, North Carolina, and Stanford.
