Virginia wine industry expands with new tasting rooms and regional growth

The Virginia wine industry continues to expand through family-owned operations and regional developments in areas like Nokesville and the Shenandoah Valley.

In Nokesville, Dustin and Tara Miner have transitioned from wine enthusiasts to producers with the opening of a new tasting room in downtown Nokesville. The family-run Nokesville Winery, which began as a backyard operation in Prince William County, now features a dedicated production facility and a new commercial space located approximately one hour from Alexandria.

In the Shenandoah Valley, several vineyards are highlighting the region's growing reputation for quality. Cave Ridge Vineyard in Mt. Jackson has produced gold-winning blends, such as the Fossil Hill Reserve. CrossKeys Vineyard in Mt. Crawford offers a chateau-style tasting room and a chef-driven bistro, featuring specialty items like Blanc De Noir. Muse Vineyards in Woodstock utilizes diverse grape varieties and Old World traditions to produce award-winning wines.
