Goiânia Health Department Secures Full Contracts for Essential Medicines

The Municipal Health Secretariat of Goiânia announced that it has completed the registration of price tables and delivery orders for every item on the Municipal Essential Medicines List (Remume). With the contracts in place, 100 % of the required medicines and supplies are now procured, and the current stock coverage in health units stands at 90.5 %.

The city invested R$ 63.9 million between 2025 and June 2026 to acquire 506 types of medicines and daily‑use materials, creating an inventory of more than 15.5 million medication units and 8 million supplies. The remaining 9.5 % shortfall is due to pending deliveries from manufacturers and distributors, not to a lack of purchase. The secretariat expects the coverage rate to rise as suppliers meet their delivery schedules.
