Virovitica and Suhopolje launch new youth programs

New community programs for children have been launched in Virovitica and Suhopolje, Croatia, focusing on nature exploration and physical activity.

ROOTS Nature Explorers, an initiative originating from Osijek, has introduced experiential workshops designed to foster curiosity and independence through forest pedagogy. The program aims to connect children with the natural world through activities such as observing insects and exploring forest environments. Following its success in Osijek, the program has expanded to Suhopolje, where the first workshops have already been conducted.

In a separate initiative to mark Children's Week, the Sports Community of Virovitica-Podravina County organized an educational program for 268 students from Vladimir Nazor Elementary School in Virovitica. The event allowed children to experience seven different sports, including football, handball, basketball, tennis, table tennis, MMA, and wrestling, with the goal of promoting healthy habits and physical activity from an early age.
