Virovitica celebrates 792nd anniversary with Rokovo festivities

The city of Virovitica celebrated its 792nd birthday through the Rokovo festivities, a multi-day event featuring diverse cultural, sporting, and traditional activities. The program included the VIROLIBER book fair, the 7th International Oldtimer meeting, and the Virokreativa crafts fair, which hosted over 40 exhibitors. Katarina Štukar, representing ‘Katarinin cvjetni svijet’, was awarded the title of best stall at the crafts fair.

In addition to cultural events, the celebrations included various sports competitions, such as the Rokovo Cup in tennis and a football cup. Croatian veterans and retirees also participated in traditional games under the motto ‘Together in war – together in peace’, competing in disciplines like darts, horseshoe tossing, and egg-and-spoon races.

Mayor Ivica Kirin issued a congratulatory message to the citizens, emphasizing the strength of the community and the city's commitment to creating better living conditions for future generations. The festivities concluded with musical performances, folklore displays by KUD Virovitica, and the Virovitica Street Festival.
