Virtual artist LAYRA debuts new song produced by TeddyLoid

Virtual artist LAYRA has released her debut song, ‘Watashi wa LAYRA’, produced by TeddyLoid. The track serves as the opening theme for ‘PROJECT LAYRA’, an immersive live event set five years after the animated film ‘Belle’.

The project features five different singers—miwa, Natsumi Kon, Konomi Suzuki, Maria Miki, and ASCA—who will rotate roles to portray both the virtual singer LAYRA and her real-world counterpart, Kotomi. The immersive live performances are scheduled to take place from October 10 to November 15 at MoN Takanawa: The Museum of Narratives Box1000 in Tokyo.

The music video, which combines film footage with 3DCG, explores the emotional journey of a girl navigating the boundary between reality and the virtual world. The project is a spin-off story where the character Hiro-chan <As>, who produced Belle in the original film, discovers and mentors LAYRA within the virtual world of ‘U’.
