Virtuals Protocol launches AI agent tools and secure wallets on Solana

Virtuals Protocol has launched a new suite of artificial intelligence (AI) agent creation and ownership tools on the Solana blockchain. The platform utilizes an application layer called EconomyOS, which allows agents to possess registered on-chain identities and independent wallets. This infrastructure enables agents to perform tasks such as buying services, hiring other agents, and managing their own computing expenses.

To address security risks like prompt injection and memory poisoning, Virtuals Protocol is introducing programmable agent wallets. These wallets operate on the Base network with planned expansion to Solana, providing non-custodial multi-chain smart accounts. The system implements owner-configurable policies enforced server-side, independent of the AI's logic. This ensures that even if an agent's behavior is manipulated by malicious prompts, the wallet will not execute transactions that violate predefined rules, such as the “DENY_ALL” preset which requires manual approval for every transaction.
