Virtus Ragusa re-signs former captain Andrea Sorrentino

Virtus Ragusa has officially re-signed guard Andrea Sorrentino ahead of the new season. Sorrentino, born in 1990, previously served as the team captain during their historic promotion to the B Nazionale.

His departure in 2024 was due to personal commitments that conflicted with the requirements of the higher league. After spending the last two seasons with Meerkat Scicli, he returns to the club having already participated in the preseason training period.

Coach Gianni Recupido highlighted that Sorrentino brings both emotional value as a club figurehead and technical expertise, noting his ability to read the game and provide depth to the team's perimeter rotations. Sorrentino expressed that his return was a pleasant surprise and stated he is ready to contribute his experience to the squad.
