Visa expands fraud prevention via BioCatch and addresses AI security

Visa is expanding its fraud prevention capabilities through the acquisition of BioCatch, signaling a shift toward holistic fraud strategies. The move emphasizes the integration of behavioral intelligence with real-time decisioning to combat evolving threats such as AI-enabled attacks and account takeovers.

In a separate technological demonstration, Visa’s president of technology, Rajat Taneja, utilized Anthropic’s Mythos model to identify vulnerabilities within Visa’s own payment network. While the demonstration showed the ability to find exploit chains, broader enterprise research indicates a growing containment gap in agentic AI security. Data shows that while many enterprises enforce agent permissions, only a small fraction successfully isolate high-risk agents, leaving a gap between AI investment and security readiness.
