Visa expands international payments using USDC stablecoin

Visa has transitioned its Visa Direct stablecoin functionality from a pilot phase to commercial operations. The service utilizes the USDC stablecoin to facilitate 24/7 cross-border transfers, allowing selected clients to move funds even during weekends or outside of standard banking hours.

Inyo Global, a payment infrastructure provider serving fintech companies, banks, and money transfer providers, is the first partner to deploy the service. Through this integration, Inyo clients can use USDC for the prefunding of cross-border disbursements in near real-time. This development marks a shift in the utility of stablecoins, moving beyond cryptocurrency exchanges toward practical applications in corporate liquidity management and transaction settlement.
