Visa expands stablecoin payments and onchain lending infrastructure

Visa is expanding its digital finance infrastructure by integrating onchain lending with its existing payment systems. The company is leveraging VisaNet settlement data to help fintechs and stablecoin-linked card programs access working capital through onchain credit solutions.

According to reports from Seoul, the volume of stablecoin-based card payments has increased fifteenfold compared to the previous year, with volumes currently doubling every six months. In the second quarter of fiscal year 2026, Visa reported an annualized run rate of over $20 billion for stablecoin settlement.

To standardize the technical landscape, Visa is participating in an open standard supported by over 180 members, including BlackRock, Standard Chartered, and Stripe. Additionally, the company has launched 'Credit Coop,' a stablecoin-revolving credit initiative for card issuers secured by settlement receivables.
