Visa reports rising stablecoin use in business payments
Visa data indicates a significant rise in stablecoin adoption for business and commercial card programs. Approximately 17% of stablecoin-linked card volume in the current fiscal year-to-date has occurred within these business-focused programs. Payments volume across the more than 160 stablecoin-linked card programs supported by Visa has grown nearly 200% year over year, as companies utilize the assets for settlement, treasury management, and cross-border commerce.
In a separate development, StraitsX plans to launch its Singapore dollar (XSGD) and US dollar (XUSD) stablecoins on the Monad Layer 1 blockchain in early 2027. If successful, XSGD would be the network’s first natively issued Singapore dollar stablecoin. The integration aims to provide developers and institutions on the Monad network with tools for cross-border payments and settlement, subject to regulatory and technical requirements.
