Visa updates Indonesia Security Roadmap to combat digital payment threats
Visa has updated its Indonesia Security Roadmap to address the evolving landscape of digital payment threats. Introduced at the Visa Indonesia Risk Forum, the updated roadmap aims to strengthen the security, resilience, and trust of the nation's digital payment ecosystem.
The updated strategy focuses on five key priorities. First, it emphasizes enhancing capabilities to anticipate and respond to AI-driven fraud, which has become more rapid and personalized. Second, Visa is promoting advanced authentication methods, such as biometrics and passkeys, to replace traditional SMS OTPs for a more secure yet practical user experience.
Additional priorities include strengthening cybersecurity posture through regular assessments, ensuring system integrity and processing resilience to prevent failures, and preparing for future challenges such as post-quantum cryptography risks. The roadmap was developed through ongoing dialogue with financial institutions, merchants, and payment service providers to reflect market needs.
