Visakhapatnam hosts BRICS cycling event during Youth and Sports Ministers' Meetings
As part of India's BRICS Chairship 2026, Visakhapatnam hosted the BRICS Youth and Sports Ministers' Meetings. To mark the occasion, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya led the ‘Fit India: Sundays on Cycle’ event along Beach Road.
The cycling initiative, organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with the Cycling Federation of India, the Raahgiri Foundation, and MY Bharat, saw participation from ministers, sports representatives, and youth delegates from BRICS member nations including Brazil, Russia, China, and South Africa, as well as various Middle Eastern and African nations.
Minister Mandaviya emphasized that collaboration in technology, sports, and skill development among BRICS nations would strengthen collective efforts. He also highlighted cycling as a means to promote healthy lifestyles and reduce pollution.
