Viseu celebrates regional gastronomy with Rancho Route event

The municipality of Viseu, in collaboration with the Commercial Association of the District of Viseu, organized the ‘Rota do Rancho’ (Rancho Route) to promote and value the region's traditional gastronomy. The event featured 51 participating restaurants serving the emblematic ‘rancho’ dish, often accompanied by wines from the Dão region.

Mayor João Azevedo noted that the initiative aims to celebrate an identity-defining dish while simultaneously stimulating the local economy and supporting participating restaurants. Gualter Mirandez, president of the Commercial Association, emphasized that gastronomy serves as a vital tool for territorial promotion and attracting visitors to the region.
