Vishal's Directorial Debut 'Magudam' Set for August 14 Worldwide Release

Tamil actor Vishal announced that his first film as director, titled "Magudam" in Tamil and "Makutam" in Telugu, will open worldwide on August 14, 2026. The official trailer is scheduled for release on August 7, and a new poster was unveiled alongside the announcement.

The project, originally started by director Ravi Arasu, saw Vishal take over mid‑production, making it his directorial debut. Super Good Films is producing its 99th production, with music composed by GV Prakash Kumar. The cast includes Anjali, Dushara Vijayan, John Vijay, Ajay and Vamsi Krishna. A brief dispute over the directorial change was later clarified by FEFSI president RK Selvamani as resolved amicably.
