Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai ploughs field in native village

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai returned to his native village of Bagiya in the Jashpur district to engage in traditional farming. On Monday, Sai participated in ‘biyasi’, a traditional paddy cultivation practice, by ploughing a field using a pair of bullocks.

Sai, who comes from a farming family, stated that agriculture is a “way of life” rather than just a livelihood. He noted that the experience provided a sense of peace and renewed energy while reconnecting him with his childhood and the values of hard work and patience. He emphasized that agriculture is central to Chhattisgarh’s identity and economic prosperity.

In a separate event, the Chief Minister also paid tribute to the late Kushabhau Thakre on his birth anniversary at the Chief Minister's residence in Raipur, honoring Thakre's contributions to nation-building and social service.
